Sketchbook Corner #9

A really great book to get those artist hands a good workout!  I bought this waaaay back when Borders used to exist *sniff.* I believe it was on sale for $20. Just a GIANT book full of nifty animal photos and useful information about them.

And here's a look inside. I've gotten into the habit of drawing beside my nook while playing Pandora.

Below is another book to look into. Saw it online and fell in love with the sketch-work. The artist really captures every detail in the animal's movements. My biggest problem before was drawing deer/horse legs and hooves. This book made it easy for me to correct my mistakes. ^___^

Ahhh, such beautiful line work...

These are some of the sketches I came up with. Some of the deer poses I used from the book above. I kind of experimented with animals from the GIANT book as well. Just thought I'd mix it up a little.

This Bison is one of my favorite sketches. I think I'll rework it into an illustration sometime soon. I especially like his cute little hooves. >___<

Ah, yes, this little jellyfish will probably appear here once I'm finished with it. There will be many, actually. Looking forward to seeing them float around. Giving them an ethereal glow will be quite a challenge, though.

Another sketch I was happy with. Does are so pretty!

Another candidate for a final piece. Something about this doe's expression makes it seem like she's holding onto a secret.  Or maybe she's just happy to be prancing along my sketchbook. Does are such silly creatures. *laughs*
