Making up for lost time (with relatives visiting), here's a peek at my next illustration. It's a water-themed birthday present for a friend.

Sketchbook Corner #7

I wanted to introduce my 2013 sketchbook with a pod of floating whales and a line from one of my favorite movies, Mirrormask. I've never given much thought about whales in my illustrations, but during the making of Home Sweet Home, I was given the option of painting floating whales in the middle of an enchanted forest. During the initial drafts, however, the commission piece was changed to owls, cats and baby dear--so I was deprived my whales.
 Until now. ^___^

"Then she rested on her bed and dreamed of her creations" ~ Mirrormask.

Maneki Paw's new home

Sometimes I get so caught up on this blog, I nearly forget I have another in need of attention.
=___= My fault, really.
So rather than neglect Little Blue Tower's sister blog, I have decided to delete the Maneki Paw blog and share the space here. I'll make a page for my feline collection inside the tower, so keep an eye out for upcoming wips and final pieces.
Here's a summary of what I have added to the collection so far:

"Family Tree"

"Home Sweet Home"

~ ** 27 Wishes!!**~

Yea, it's my birthday. Just thought you should know. On a more interesting note, however, about 403 years ago, Galileo discovered two of the four moons of Jupiter on this day. The other two he discovered the following day. My guess is he got sleepy.

2013 ~ ready or not!

Well, here it is. My official "first" post of the new year.
*sighs in contentment*
After a productive day running errands (paying rent, going to the post office, etc), I decided to reward myself with a bit of an artistic shopping spree. I went to Barnes and Noble (bought a sketchbook and had a delicious coffee here ^__^), Pearl's Art Store (...bought another sketchbook. One can never have too many, in my opinion) and Tate's (comic book store)! I feel suitably prepared to tackle my resolutions this year.  I haven't read The Successful Artist's Career Guide  yet, but it looks promising. I'm hoping it will give me some insight about possible career choices this year. If I find something good, I'll share it next time!
